The Artist's Perspective | Technical & Allegorical Context
Measure this work with the same honesty you use to judge your own soul. In this work, I deliberately placed the focus on 'Holy Emotion' rather than anatomical or descriptive perfection. I used my own likeness as a vessel for the saint, seeking the universal 'Prophet' within the individual. Technically, the background is almost entirely consumed by darkness, allowing the figure to emerge only where the light of his mission touches him.
The challenge of changing one's own likeness to represent a saint is not just a technical task—it is a psychological journey. This painting is not a cold anatomical study; it is a psychological landscape, a vibration of air and spirit.

The Camel Skin:
A symbol of asceticism and the raw, unpolished truth of the desert.
The Lamb:
"Agnus Dei" – representing the sacrifice and the path of peace.
The Headcloth:
A mark of the weary traveler, bridging the gap between historical accuracy and timeless wandering.
